Communications Department Annual Seminar, May 11-12, 2023

Once a year the Communications Department brings the six Country Directors from Central America and the seven Regional Directors from Guatemala together for a seminar. It is a big event and takes a lot of planning, particularly by Jeniffer. Most the participants are flown in and some bring their assistants, or spouses with them. This year the event was in Guatemala City at the Area Offices. That was nice for us since we only had to drive a short distance to everything.

The first day was mostly trainings by various people. They did a good job. We are blessed to have many talented people in these callings who taught on important topics. The meals at the office were catered by a local brother and his company and were delicious. 

That evening, we walked to a restaurant not that far from our apartment where we met the rest of the group for dinner. We enjoyed typical Guatemalan food and visiting. I inlcude this picture to show most of the group because I didn't think to get another picture of the group.

The next day began by going to a facility for some Team Building activities. We had several activities where we had to work with our team and sometimes another team, to accomplish tasks.

 

                One of the activities was to play soccer with team members in T-shirts for 1, 2 and 3 people.                                                             That was an interesting challenge. 

After lunch we returned back to the Area Offices for more training. This brother was teaching about how to take better pictures on our cell phone. Unfortunately, a s you can tell from my photos, I don't remember anything he taught us.

 Friday evening, the last night, we spent a lot of time at a karaoke "bar".  I was a little surprised by how much they all participated and enjoyed themselves. Mary and I opted not to sing. These are very good people and we very much enjoyed being with them.
